Knocking at the Door.........

Shimon Peres has been at the forefront of the "peace movement" in Israel for decades.

He helped with the. "Oslo Accords" in the early 1990's......and regardless of how you feel about him personally....I think we can all agree that he can be considered, " a optimist when it comes to Arab/Israeli relations..."

He trusted, and placed faith in Yasir Arafat.

He convinced Yit:zhak Rabin, (then Prime Minister). to embrace the arch terrorist, and allow him back into world- "acceptance."

He wrote books detailing peace plans, and open borders......his books focused on creating viable economies for Arab States.

Shimon Peres believes the Mid-East can be a peaceful region.

He is a optimist.

So, when Shimon Peres says the following, you better believe that Israel will not be waiting for negotiations to, produce nothing but contined rhetoric, and a nuclear weapon.

"They want to wipe out Israel......now when it comes to destruction, Iran, too, can be destroyed (but) I don't suggest to say and eye for an eye...."

I DO.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called for Israel to be, "wiped off the map" and has vowed, "anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nations fury..."

He went on: "the Zionist regime is a rotten, dried tree that will be eliminated by one storm."

So, I ask you - should Israel wait?

Should Israel sit patiently, while the French, and British debate?

The Russian and Chinese need the oil, and the access to trading, with Iran.....don't hold your breath waiting for
Security Council Resolutions....

They are NOT coming.

The United Nations will debate.
The World will say, "diplomacy."
The Chinese and Russians will circle the wagons, on behalf of the Iranians.
The Israelis will grow more agitated.

And while all of this is happening, uranium will continued to be enriched, deeper bunkers will be constructed ---and a nuclear weapons in the hands of terrorists, will creep ever closer.

Think about how our President, acted in the early 1960's at the prospect of Cuba having missles, 90 miles from our shore?

Brinksmanship.

Israel and the US, need to plan to DESTROY the infrastructure of Iran. I'm sorry for the Iranian people, but these religious mullahs, running their country have led them to one place......destruction, and a country destined to live in the 19th century.

The US needs to do a comprehensive PR campaign DIRECTED to the Iranian people. Internet, and Radio...(Similar to our broadcasts behind the Iron Curtain, during the Cold War)...

Broadcasts, that spell out the destiny of the country on the current path.

If a optimist like Shimon Peres speaks about, "destroying Iran too" - you better believe that we are in the "pregame warmup" to a destruction of Irans ability to threaten the world.

Where do you stand on this issue?

I'm VERY interested in feedback on this topic....so, please use the comments below. You can post without using your name.

"When life looks like easy street, there is danger at your door."

Danger is knocking, do YOU hear it?

Should we answer it, ignore it, or just patiently wait for someone else to deal with it?

I read the Iranians presidents letter to President Bush this evening and I could not beleive what was said.... "Students are saying that sixty years ago such a country did no exist. The show old documents and globes and say try as we have, we have not been able to find a country named Israel" What globe is he looking at? He is looking at a globe where only people exsist that beleive in what he beleives. It is just like running a business. A CEO beleives in what the company does and relays that message to employees, which in turn relays to customers. When you have a country with a so called "leader" portraying what he beleives religiously, or politically that is the message he sends to his "people". He is doing an injustice to his country.

This is a long term problem with no easy solution. The military option (bombing strategic targets within Iran) will merely stir up a hornets nest for everyone - the people of Iran who hate the Mullahs will nevertheless rally to their leaders and hate the US and Israel even more. The Iranian gov't will make moves to blow up US interests all over the globe. They may even use the military force as a pretext to launch missles at Israel. They will then seek to blockade the Straits, not letting Iraqi or UAE or Kuwaiti oil out - we could wipe them out and take it back, but only with significant losses to men and materiel. The political option goes nowhere - they won't do anything and keep stalling. They hid their program for 18 years, what makes anyone think that they will now abandon it?

The only thing to do is convince China and Russia that it is in their interests to join the US in seeking to isolate them. The Europeans recognize it is a problem, but take the position that it is our problem first and foremost and that we will do something, so they won't do anything. Obviously the other middle east countries won't do anything at all - anything we do to Iran, they think could be done to them.

All in all, bad options all the way around. The only real solution is to significantly reduce oil consumption to pull their funding out from under them. We can thank all of our leaders, from both parties, since the 70's, for their utter failure to recognize this threat, even when everyone knew the day would come.
